Troubleshooting Error 400 in AccountEdge
If you encounter an Error 400 when clicking the KW Financial Statement button, please verify the following three areas to ensure your data is formatted correctly for submission.
1. Market Center (MC) Number Formatting
The submission tool is sensitive to extra characters. Check your MC number settings:
Remove Leading Zeros: If your MC number is 123, ensure it is entered as 123, not 0123.
Check for Spaces: Ensure there are no accidental spaces before or after the number.
2. Market Center Company Information:
- Go to the Set up tab in Accountedge and confim all MC information is still populated.
3. Missing Account Names
The system cannot process accounts that lack a label. This applies to both Header and Detail accounts.
Action: Open your Account List and scroll through the "Name" column.
Fix: If you find any row where the account number exists but the name field is blank, enter a valid name or delete the unused account.
4. Chart of Accounts (COA) Compliance
Error 400 occurs when you use an account number that is not part of the KW-approved chart of accounts.
The Audit: Compare your current AccountEdge list against the KWRI Chart of Accounts.
-
The Fix: If you identify an unrecognized account, you will have to move entries in the unrecognized accounts to accounts that are part of the KW approved chart of accounts.
