The period for Awards Verification runs from November through December 19th. This is the period set aside for Market Centers to work with their associates - individual and team/group - to confirm that the GCI and units displayed on the Awards reports matches their production for listings, sales, and referrals for the current calendar year.
Objective: make sense of the awards policy and awards verification procedures and timeline so that MCAs and their teams can schedule for success!
The Pain Points:
- Can’t find the Awards Policy
- Team Member start dates and closing allocations – most common update requested
- When does a data correction equal a change in medallion status?
An Overview of the KWRI Awards Policy
Our amazing Awards Team has spruced up the Awards Policy. The categories and benchmarks remain the same, but pay careful attention to the due dates and deadlines.
Awards Updates Deadline: December 19
Sharing success and recognizing achievement is an integral part of who we are as a company. We know how important awards are to our associates and work hard to communicate our deadlines far in advance.
The deadline for submitting awards updates is December 19th, Awards Policy.
Unfortunately, because of the logistical demands of preparing awards for a company of 180,000 associates, the deadline is firm and the Awards Team is unable to make adjustments or changes at this point.
A Note about Local Market Center Awards
A great way to keep up with your associates and their awards status all year is to pull the Rankings reports each month to use in monthly recognition. These make it super easy, breaking everyone into Individual, Individual Agent Team, Team, and Group. Be sure to check out the recognition ideas article in the Knowledge Base as well!
The Verification Process
Verification is arguably more time-consuming than hard. You’ll instruct each associate to visit Command > Reports > Associate Sales Production Detail. Here they can validate their production through the latest closed production data for the current year. Give them a deadline to communicate any concerns.
Here are some things to remind your associates to look for:
- Are the units and GCI correct for each closing? These are the two numbers that Awards are based on. If not, which specific transactions do we need to review together?
- If you had any commercial closings, are they all correctly labeled C for commercial?
- For teams, is every team closing included in the list and totals? If not, which specific transactions are not included?
And remember to include their deadline to report change needs to you – include it more than once!
What To Do When You Find an Error
Through the December 19th deadline, when you spot something that doesn’t add up – or your agents or teams do – you will be able to make unit and volume corrections at the Market Center using a post-closing correction adjustment transaction.
If it's a correction that can't be made at the Market Center, contact MCA Support by completing this form, Please include:
- the whole report you are looking at as an attachment and
- the Transaction data that should be matching up to it.
Remember, Transactions is the source data, so we’ll need that to begin any review.
After the December 19th deadline, all inquiries should be directed to the Awards Team here.
Medallions Mailed to Market Centers versus Ordering
Associates who are registered for Family Reunion by December 20th AND are eligible for an award medallion will have their medallion mailed to the Market Center, addressed to the MCA.
Due to the very tight timeline between receiving final Month End Close production, pulling final awards reports, and ordering and shipping medallions for Family Reunion registrants, these arrive roughly 3-5 days before Family Reunion. Plan to distribute them just before folks depart or at your regional awards banquet.
For those who register after 12/20 or do not attend Family Reunion, the Market Center can purchase them online at Awards Policy & Purchase.
