Sometimes mistakes are made, or something changes at the last minute, and you need to edit a Transaction that has already been closed. If that Transaction was closed in the current period, you have the ability to unclose the Transaction and make the edits you need.
|
Changes to transactions that need to be made in periods that have already been closed will require an Adjustment Transaction, instead of following the steps below. Instead, use this guide to determine the type of Adjustment Transaction that will need to be used. |
To edit a Closed Transaction from the current accounting period:
Access
1. Log in to https://agent.kw.com with your KW login credentials.
2. At the top of the page, click CommandMC.
3. Click to access the Transactions Applet, , on the left side of the page.
4. Find the Transaction that needs to be edited by either using the Search (Address, Client Name, or Transaction ID) or by using the Closed Status filter.
5. Click on the Transaction ID of the closed Transaction that needs to be edited, which will open the details.
6. Before we continue, check to see if the Transaction has been included in a Deposit. In the Transaction Details, you will see if there is a Deposit Number or not (left side of the page).
- If has not been included in a Deposit, continue to the next step.
- If it has been included in a Deposit, you will need to update/delete the Deposit in CommandMC and reconcile the change in AccountEdge (then come back to this article to continue).
7. In the bottom right corner, click Undo Closing.
|
If the transaction is already included as part of a Deposit, you'll receive a popup letting you know. |
8. Edit the transaction to make any necessary corrections. Close the transaction, downloading any necessary Transaction Reports.
9. Make sure the original Deposit was deleted from AccountEdge, and create/import the new Deposit into AccountEdge.
